It’s a pretty video, but how much are the maps?
Maps can be bought by download or on
CD/DVD. You can buy the mapping in
either or both formats, and they will seamlessly join up on your PC, which
means you can add to your map library whenever you want.
Map Downloads start from just £10, whilst CD prices start at
£19.99 and go up
to £165.
Map prices vary widely due to licensing costs. For instance, the whole of
Great Britain at 1:50,000 scale Landranger data at £165 is much cheaper than
its paper equivalent, whilst this position is reversed when considering
1:25,000 Explorer data.
Due to this pricing, a lot of Anquet users buy large coverage at 1:50,000
scale (often on disk) to use as a general orientation level map and then
purchasing more specific areas at 1:25,000 scale either from our Explorer CD
range or direct from the MapServer by download.
With the more expensive data, using the
MapServer to download your maps
allows you to define and therefore only pay for the mapping that you require
making this the most economic way to buy the mapping for most people. With
prices starting from £10, if you need more mapping you can always download
it at a later date and it will seamlessly join up with the data you already
have.
